The I Conference on Language, Gender and Artificial Intelligence: Discourses, Inequalities and Social Transformation, organised by the Consolidated Innovation Group INNOVALingua-EIA (GCID25-3799451), provides an interdisciplinary forum for exploring how language reflects, reproduces and challenges social inequalities, with particular attention to gender, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
The first day examines the relationship between language, discourse and inequality, bringing together leading scholars to discuss critical discourse analysis, symbolic violence, gender-sensitive language policies, women’s health discourse, judicial discourse and verbal aggression in digital environments.
The second day focuses on gender, artificial intelligence and employability, addressing current challenges such as bias-aware AI, inclusive translation technologies, ethical issues in language mediation, and the future of language professions in an AI-driven society.
The conference features an outstanding programme of keynote lectures, seminars and round-table discussions delivered by internationally recognised experts, including Chelo Vargas Sierra, María Ángeles Orts Llopis, María Milagros del Saz Rubio, Elena Castellano Ortolá, María Muelas Gil, Andrea Piergentili, Sergio Maruenda-Bataller, Marta García González, and Marina Cano, bringing together some of the leading voices in discourse analysis, gender studies, translation, language technologies and artificial intelligence.
The event is organised by INNOVALingua-EIA, a Consolidated Innovation Group at the University of Valencia dedicated to advancing educational innovation through cognitive linguistics, artificial intelligence, virtual reality and language technologies, while promoting employability and preparing students for the evolving demands of the multilingual and digital workplace.
The conference aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
