On February 26, 2025, starting at 9:00 a.m., in the "Enric Valor" Hall of the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication, the III Interdepartmental Conference entitled "The Romance Perspective in Linguistic and Literary Studies" will take place. After the first two editions of the conference, we give continuity to this initiative with the participation of all the departments of the Faculty.
The aim of the conference is to offer a global vision of the evolution from Latin to the Romance languages, in order to achieve a better understanding of the internal mechanisms of each language and the explanatory factors, as well as to show the cultural and literary unity of the Middle Ages and the Golden Age (sources, ways of thinking), which makes a Romance perspective on medieval literature necessary. By involving all departments, we hope to make up for the lack of Romance linguistics in our studies. In addition, methodologies will be presented that can contribute to a global understanding of the languages, literatures, and the Romance world.
The conference is aimed at the entire faculty, both teachers and students of the various degrees, as well as secondary school teachers.
