On May 6th and 7th, the International Conference on Historical Spanish Phraseology will be held in the Graduate Hall of the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication.

The Jornadas Internacionales de Fraseología histórica española aims to advance knowledge of the historical development of Spanish phraseological units. Based on a methodology grounded in the principles and tools provided by philological scholarship, this conference seeks to highlight the close relationship observed between historical phraseology and the Hispanic textual heritage in shaping the standard form of Spanish over time. Accordingly, the proposed contributions focus on historical and historiographical aspects in the study of phraseology, including detailed analysis of the phraseological component in different textual traditions, as well as attention to historiographical sources, with particular emphasis on the Diccionario de autoridades (1726–1739), which celebrates its third centenary in 2026.
