María Teresa Echenique Elizondo distinguished in an act of homage to pioneering women of the University of Valencia

During the event, Mª Teresa Echenique's career as the first director in the history of the Spanish Philology Department of the University of Valencia, in 1990-1992, and 2001-2004 was recognized.

María Teresa Echenique Elizondo has been distinguished along with 65 other pioneering women, in an act in the Auditorium of La Nau presided by the Rector of the University of Valencia, Mª Vicenta Mestre, accompanied by the Minister of Finance of the Generalitat Valenciana, Vicente Soler, the vice chancellor of Equality, Diversity and Sustainability, Elena Martínez, the General Secretary of the University, Mª Elena Olmos and the CSIC professor, Flora de Pablo.

Professor Echenique is Professor of Spanish Philology (Spanish Language) at the University of Valencia since 1987. She has taught courses and given lectures at Spanish and foreign universities, and has been a principal investigator of research projects at the UV uninterrupted since that date. Currently, she directs the HISLEDIA Research Group (GIUV 2013-080) of the UV's Spanish Philology Department.

The event was attended by the lecture of the CSIC professor Flora de Pablo. After the award ceremony, the Rector Mª Vicenta Mestre thanked the pioneering work of women honored and the initiative of the Equality Unit work to make this event possible.
