Sudoe: Third and Fourth Calls for Proposals Now Open

Interreg Sudoe

The Interreg Sudoe programme has published its third and fourth calls for proposals. These will be the final calls for the 2021–2027 period.

The Interreg Sudoe programme supports regional development in Southwest Europe. It promotes transnational cooperation to address common challenges across the regions within its territory.

As of 4 May 2026, Sudoe has opened its third and fourth calls. The third call is for capitalisation projects, and the fourth is for structuring projects.

Third Call: Capitalisation Projects

Capitalisation projects analyse, synthesise, and disseminate existing results produced by standard projects from the Sudoe 2021–2027 and Sudoe 2014–2020 programmes within a specific thematic area.

Applications must fall under one of the following three themes:

  • Theme 1: Water Resource Management
    • Special focus on: management of water uses; water quality and pollution control
  • Theme 2: Agricultural and Forestry Resources and Sectors
    • Special focus on: adaptation to climate change; digitalisation of processes
  • Theme 3: Ageing Population
    • Special focus on: active ageing and good health; innovative services and digitalisation; social innovation.

The text of the call includes a list of Interreg Sudoe projects for the 2014–2020 and 2021–2027 periods, grouped by theme.

The consortium must include the following four types of stakeholders:

  1. Research centres / Universities
  2. Specialised agencies or associations
  3. Public authorities
  4. Thematic networks

Call Budget: €5,355,244

A maximum of two projects will be selected per theme, resulting in a total of 6 projects for the entire call.

Fourth Call: Structuring Projects

A structuring project aims to establish the foundations and tools required at transnational level to improve the organisation and coordination of public authorities’ intervention in a given sector. It targets high‑impact results that are integrated into public policies and transferable to other territories.

Applications must fall under one of the following two themes:

  1. Taking action against wildfires
  2. Taking action against population ageing

The consortium must include the following three types of stakeholders:

  1. Relevant national bodies
  2. Regional or local authorities
  3. Operational stakeholders

Call Budget

  • Wildfires: €5,768,940.70
  • Ageing: €3,000,000

One project will be selected per theme, resulting in a total of 2 projects for the call.

  • Opening date: 4 May 2026

  • Presentation webinar (3rd Call): 19 May 2026
  • Presentation webinar (4th Call): 21 May 2026
  • Deadline: 30 September 2026, before 14:00 (Mainland Spain time)
