The LISE Literature, Society and Education group develops its research activity around reading processes and their impact on not only on education but also on their social dimension. To this end, it researches various core areas related to this aim, mainly through the study of literary texts and children's and youth literature from a perspective that encompasses the analysis of works from different perspectives (the reading circuit, the promotion of reading, interculturality, the impact on education, etc.) and also the reading process itself as a social phenomenon recorded in the consumption networks of cultural and educational products.
- Literary Reading. This line of research covers the different processes that lead to literary reading and that arise from it: reading promotion, consumption of products related to literature, etc.
- Children's Literature Analysis.Children's and youth literature is studied, on the one hand, as the main tool for literary education and, on the other, as a producer of meanings linked to the reality of children and young people. The study of reading response is also an important part.
- Education and Reading. This line of research investigates the impact and profitability of literary reading in other educational fields, both as complementary material and as guidance material for teaching activity.
- Intercultural Education.Education for the development of intercultural competence through literature.
