Description of research activity:

The PerSISTech group focuses on the design and study of advanced smart materials exhibiting persistent luminescence. By integrating phenomena such as spin crossover and photo-modulated emission, we develop systems capable of responding dynamically to external stimuli like light and temperature. Our research aims to bridge the gap between fundamental photophysics and the next generation of multifunctional sensing technologies, ranging from optical thermometry to magnetic contrast probes.

Scientific-technical goals:
  • Estudiar los mecanismos fisicoquímicos de la luminiscencia persistente y el fenómeno de spin crossover en redes de coordinación y materiales dopados.
  • Diseñar y sintetizar nuevos materiales capaces de responder de forma reversible a estímulos externos, principalmente luz y temperatura.
  • Contribuir a la eficiencia energética mediante el almacenamiento de luz y mejorar las técnicas de diagnóstico biomédico a través de la bioimagen de alta resolución.
