The workshop is divided into two parts. The first part consists of an introduction about the different surfaces, their sections and the figures that can appear on them when cut, and the applications that these sections have in a geometrical piece.

In the second part, attendants will have the opportunity to build real models of the surfaces seen in the first part from some families of sections of these surfaces. Firstly, using the templates and with paper and scissors, they will cut the sections to later rebuild the surfaces from the sections.

Juan Monterde, Professor of the Department of Geometry and Topology of the Universitat de València and María García Monera, Professor of Mathematics in secondary education, are responsible for this workshop in the Faculty of Mathematics in Burjassot.
