Festival of Science at the Botanical Garden of the Universitat de València
Year after year, we celebrate the Festival of Science at the Botanical Garden of the Universitat de València, in these days dedicated to disseminate the scientific knowledge. The year 2005 has been declared by the UNESCO as the International Year of Science on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the and the centenary of the publication of some of his most outstanding scientific articles. To conclude the activities that the Universitat de València has carried out throughout the year on the occasion of this commemoration, the thread of the already traditional Festival of Science will revolve around Physics. This activity is aimed to all types of public, but, moreover, you will also be able to enjoy the incomparable setting offered by the Botanical Garden of the Universitat de València with a wide range of shapes, colours and smells to discover.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Festival of Physics and Technology. EXPERIMENTA
The Festival of Physics and Technology is the final phase of the Experimenta competition, which was called by the Faculty of Physics of the Universitat de València. It is an exhibition of the projects built by high school students that have been selected in the contest. The exposition will display outdoors in several areas of the Garden. Visitors will be able to formulate all the questions they want to understand the physical principles on which the experiments are based, and they can vote for the contestants and favourite projects. In the Fisicalandia workshop, children will be able to build simple demonstrations.
From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. – 2005, An odyssey of physics.
An odyssey of physics. In the Joan Plaza Auditorium of the Botanical Garden, will begin the scientific show 2005, and odyssey of physics, by the GTF-Arquímedes group.

From 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Award ceremony of the Experimenta contest.
Following the scientific show, the prize-giving of the Experimenta contest will take place. The jury is chaired by the Dean of the Universitat de València. The vice-principal for Science Policy and the Dean of the Faculty of Physics will attend.
