IUDESCOOP researcher Belén Català Estada is spending three months at the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), based in Geneva

During this period, the researcher will join the Alternative Economies for Transformation line of work and collaborate on the Economies of Life for Sustainable Development project. This research analyses the role of economies linked to care, health, education and other areas essential to life, as well as their effects on reducing inequality and their contribution to more inclusive development.

The project involves the preparation of a background study and a comprehensive analysis with case studies, using participatory methodologies and multidimensional approaches. Its results will serve as a basis for formulating public policy recommendations aimed at promoting more equitable and sustainable societies.

During her stay, the researcher will work alongside UNRISD Senior Research Coordinator Ilcheong Yi, thereby strengthening academic collaboration with leading international organisations.
