    The number of articles written by University female researchers increases in one year by 13.66%, according to the CWTS Leiden Ranking

    The CWTS Leiden Ranking measures scientific impact and collaboration, open access publishing, and gender diversity based on a ranking of universities selected by the number of publications indexed in the Web of Science over four years. According to the June update, on a Spanish scale, the University of Valencia (UV) is the fourth best in the complete and fractional count, and in gender indicators 11,342 articles written by women have been measured, 13.66% more than in 2020. In addition, by fields of knowledge, it is first in Social Sciences and Humanities (fractional count) and third in two areas: Physical Sciences and Engineering and also Social and Humanities (full count).

    Summer mobility and mild controls expanded the SARS-CoV-2 variant detected in Spain in 2020

    The University of Valencia (UV), the Foundation for the Promotion of Health and Biomedical Research of the Valencian Community (FISABIO) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) have participated in an international research, published in the journal Nature, which explains how the SARS-CoV-2 variant initially detected in Spain became the predominant one in several European countries during 2020. The work, in which Fernando González (professor of Genetics at the University of Valencia and researcher of FISABIO) and Iñaki Comas (CSIC) participate belongs to the SeqCOVID consortium, which carries more than 17,000 sequenced virus samples.

    Francisco Pérez and Joaquín Aldás lead the U-Ranking study on synthetic indicators of the Spanish University System

    Francisco Pérez, research director of the Institute of Economic Research and emeritus professor of the Department of Economic Analysis of the University of Valencia (UV); and Joaquín Aldás, professor of the Department of Marketing and Market Research, have led the U-Ranking, a study on synthetic indicators of the Spanish University System (SUE), aimed at managers and experts in higher education. In the analysis by volumes of this ranking, the UV improves one position compared to 2020.

    The University of Valencia improves at the CWUR ranking, on quality of education and teaching staff, employability and research performance

    The University of Valencia (UV) has improved its position in the prestigious Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), a ranking of 2,000 universities around the world that measures the overall performance of universities. Thus, in Europe it gains three positions, reaching position 118 and globally it rises to position 288, a better place than in 2020. In addition, the UV continues to be the first Valencian university in the ranking and the fifth in Spain and also advances in research performance five places to position 232 in the world.

    The University of Valencia (UV) is the fourth Spanish higher education institution in UniRank, an international ranking of 13,600 universities based on web presence and popularity according to estimated traffic, trust and quality links.     The UV, among the 200 best in the world in research and second in Spain in Psychology, Economics, and Business Administration and Management

    The University of Valencia (UV) has improved its international position 28 places compared to 2020 in the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) and is placed at number 196 in the world, while on a European scale it has advanced 14 places and is 83. In the classification –which evaluates the results of the 4,126 main universities–, by subject the institution is second in Spain in three of them: Economics and Econometrics, Business Administration and Management, and Psychology.

    The University of Valencia, third in Spain in citations of its scientific publications with an increase of 15.24% in the last year

    The University of Valencia (UV) is the third Spanish university with the highest number of citations received (612,170), 15.24% more than last year, for its scientific publications and it is the fourth in the state in number of published academic articles (papers), 7.2% more than in 2020, according to the Incites Essential Science Indicators ranking, which analyses 7,261 institutions around the world. In addition, by subjects and by number of appointments, the UV stands out in Agricultural Sciences, in the first position in Spain and 84 in the world; and in Physics, where it is the 137th in the world and the second statewide.

    The QS World University Rankings by Subject, a classification of academic reputation and employability, citations of scientific articles and H-index highlighted the University of Valencia (UV) among the top 200 higher education centres in the world in Agriculture and Forest Sciences (in the range 101-150 of the world), Accounting and Finance, Physics and Astronomy, and Chemistry. In addition, the institution is the first Valencian university in 12 of the 18 classified subjects and by areas of knowledge it ranks 190 in the world in Natural Sciences.
