Briefing on mobility and internationalisation for UV Faculty of Physics PTGAS

These grants seek to foster both professional and personal growth through short training stays at European universities.

Last Monday 30 June, the Lise Meitner Hall of the Faculty of Physics hosted a key informative session for its Technical, Management, Administrative and Service Staff (PTGAS), focusing on the ERASMUS Training Mobility Grants. Esther Enjuto, Head of the Mobility and FORTHEM Section at the University of València, outlined the aims and new features of the programme, which seeks to foster both professional and personal growth through short training stays at European universities.

The session highlighted that these stays, lasting between 2 and 5 days from 1 October to 30 September, offer staff the chance to experience first-hand how other institutions operate, learn new methodologies, exchange best practices and strengthen skills. In the end, it’s a way  to grow professionally, to enrich themselves personally and bring innovative ideas back to their workplace. The call, open until 30 June 2026, provides 40 grants per year to cover travel and subsistence expenses. Applicants may receive up to two grants per year if one of the stays is carried out at a FORTHEM alliance university.

To apply, staff must submit their application between 15 September and 30 June, including a mobility agreement, contact person at the host university, mobility objectives and added value, planned activities, and expected outcomes. A B1 level of English or the language in which the activity will be developed is required, or alternatively, an acceptance letter from the host institution. Upon completion of the stay, participants must provide a certificate of attendance, proof of travel expenses and a final report.

This initiative, which has already attracted interest from European universities such as Palermo, offers PTGAS staff at the Faculty of Physics a unique opportunity to grow, share, and strengthen their international network.
