General Services are functional units of the administrative structure of the Universitat de València designed to perform activities that are necessary for the fulfilment of its purposes and which are not specific of the departments or centres.
A director belonging to the teaching and research staff or administration and services, appointed by the president is in charge of every service.
According to the University Constitution, the functions of the director are:

  1. Managing the ordinary, according to the guidelines issued by the governing bodies of the University, and to ensure the proper functioning of the service
  2. Proposing to the Governing Council for its approval, the Action Plan of the Service
  3. Preparing and submitting to the appropriate body proposals for materials and personnel needs
  4. Developing proposals to reform the infrastructure and the organisation of the service
  5. Writing the annual activities report of the service

The Administrative and Economic Central Services constitute the centralized management and advice structure needed to carry out the administrative and economic role of the Universitat de València. Under the organic and functional dependence of Management, in coordination with other units listed in the organizational management of the University, they ensure compliance with the agreements of the governing bodies, and the decisions of the Principal and the government team and the ordinary functioning of the institution.
