After the regulatory process of proposal and appointment of the Directorate by the Universitat de València and the CSIC, Gustavo Gómez and Rosario Gil take over the management of the of the institute on 25 May 2024.

On 16 April, the I2SysBio 'Claustro' unanimously endorsed the project for the Gustavo Gómez as director and Rosario Gil as vice-director. This support was ratified by the Institute's Board, which submitted the proposal to the Presidency of the CSIC and to the Rectorate of the University of Valencia. On 25 May, the institutions appointed the new Directorate, which replaces the previous team of Emilia Matallana and Santiago F. Elena.

Gustavo Gómez is a CSIC Researcher and Principal Investigator of the group ‘Non-Coding RNA-Mediated Regulatory Networks’ group. Rosario Gil is Professor of Genetics at the Universitat de València and Principal Investigator in the ‘Evolutionary Genetics’ group. Both will be assisted in their task of co-direction of the institute by Javier Buceta, Senior Scientist of the CSIC and Principal Investigator in the ‘Theoretical and In Silico Modeling of Biological Systems’ group.
