The University of Valencia has been ranked among the 289 best in the world in the prestigious Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) and among the European centres has reached position 121. In this ranking, the institution is the first Valencian university and fifth at a national level.

The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) updated this week the CWUR 2020 ranking, which measures the overall performance of the world’s 2.000 best universities. This is a classification that analyses the quality of education (25%) and that of teachers (10%), the prestige of former students (25%) and the quality of research (40%), with reliable and contrastable indicators, such as the number of international teacher awards and medals, the high level of employability of former students, publications in prestigious journals, highly cited articles, patents, and so on.

According to this ranking, the best centres in the world are Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University; in Europe, the universities of Cambridge, Oxford and University College London, while in Spain the first places in the ranking are occupied by the university of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Complutense University of Madrid, followed by the Autonomous University of Madrid and the University of Valencia.
