The workload studies of the administrative and services staff (PAS) of the University of Valencia units are based on the desire to have objective measures and technical tools at their disposal to facilitate an equitable and efficient management of human resources. These tools enable fact-based staffing decisions to be made with objective indicators established on the basis of a consultative process. The process of defining the workload indices has been based on available, objective and verified information, based on the expert judgement of the administrative managers of the units under study.
These indices allow for comparison and facilitate decisions regarding the redistribution of resources. Transparency has been one of the premises present in the study, from the design to the subsequent execution, due to the desire to consider the results as a basis for making relevant decisions and the commitment acquired to provide the information of the study both to those responsible for the units studied and to the university community in general.
