His works on the mode and verbal time in Spanish and Catalan have had a special incidence, and the analysis proposed there has been taken into account by different researchers, As the numerous are shown, they appear on Google Scholar from their chapters "The mode in relative and adverbial subordinates" or "Temporary and Aspectal Relations", published in works Collective. In these works the syntactic, semantic and pragmatic properties of the categories of time, appearance and mode are delimited in a detailed way, and are exemplified from extensive corpus extracted contexts. The diachronic studies based on processes of grammaticalization and reanalysis or analog changes are equally remarkable, both because of their theoretical novelty at the time some of them were performed. By the results of the research, focused on aspects as diverse as the formation of prepositions, verbal periphrasis or conjunctive nexuses, the changes in the conditional schemesor analog changes experienced by the verb in Catalan. In Google Scholar, numerous quotes from the book Latin in Catalan are collected, in which some of these works are collected. Within the Hispanic field, he has been one of the first researchers to introduce theoretical models that have been very useful for the study of language change. Thus, his first works within the theoretical framework of grammaticalization date back to 1994. Also, in the field of morphology, works linked to natural morphology and the analysis of flexion paradigms were also pioneered to be pioneered. departing from theoretical principles of cognitive and semiotic basis, and of the principles of autonomous morphology. sample of his interest in linguistic theory is also the dictionary of linguistics, published in collaboration with two other researchers in 1998. This is the first Dictionary that encompasses all linguistic disciplines and the main theoretical frameworks (structuralism, functionalism, generative grammar models, natural grammars, cognitive linguistics, self -syntax, Theory of optimity, etc. and that gives equivalences of each term in Spanish, French and English.
