Description of research activity:
Research in Foot Health and Quality of Life The INSAPICAVI group focuses its research activity on the analysis and improvement of foot health and its direct impact on health-related quality of life (HRQoL), particularly in individuals living with chronic diseases. Currently, there is a significant lack of studies addressing the relationship between foot health conditions and quality of life, despite the fact that issues in the lower limbs and gait are common clinical manifestations in these pathologies. The main goal of the group is to generate scientific knowledge that deepens the understanding of the clinical, functional, and psychosocial implications of podiatric disorders on HRQoL, and to develop strategies for prevention, assessment, and intervention aimed at promoting autonomy and well-being in affected patients. The group's research lines are structured around the following core areas: Assessment of foot health status in people with chronic diseases, including foot pain and its effects on quality of life. Biomechanical analysis of gait and balance as key functional indicators throughout the progression of chronic conditions. Evaluation of the effectiveness of orthotic...Research in Foot Health and Quality of Life The INSAPICAVI group focuses its research activity on the analysis and improvement of foot health and its direct impact on health-related quality of life (HRQoL), particularly in individuals living with chronic diseases. Biomechanical analysis of gait and balance as key functional indicators throughout the progression of chronic conditions. Evaluation of the effectiveness of orthotic treatments and other podiatric interventions to improve ambulation and prevent functional decline. Validation and use of specific health questionnaires related to foot health and quality of life. Design and implementation of preventive and educational strategies for foot health promotion in vulnerable populations. INSAPICAVI's research seeks to address an existing gap in the current scientific landscape, through a multidisciplinary approach combining podiatry, physiotherapy, nursing, psychology, and medicine. The ultimate aim is to establish a solid evidence base to support improved healthcare and enhanced quality of life for individuals with chronic illnesses.

Scientific-technical goals:

Research lines:
  • Foot Health Releated Quality of Life.Health-related quality of life is an individual's assessment of their health and ability to perform basic daily tasks, including the consequences this has on their physical, emotional and social functioning.
  • Health questionnarie as a clinimetric tool.Knowing the state of health in a population is important for evaluating interventions and predicting health and social care needs. Health questionnaires are an essential complement to medical assessment, providing a reliable means of collecting data.
  • plantar pressure. The objective of biomechanical analysis is to analyse the correlation between the information obtained and the degrees of functional severity, to study the evolutionary control or the existence of prognostic factors for evolution.
  • foot physical therapy.Application of physical means for the treatment of musculoskeletal and dermal pathologies of the foot
  • Image diagnosis.Application of radiological, ultrasonographic and nuclear methods as complementary tests in clinical diagnosis
  • Ultrasonogrphic.Application of ultrasound for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes
  • risc foot.Description of diagnostic, clinical and therapeutic methods for systemic diseases affecting the foot.
  • gait.Analysis of normal and pathological gait
