This research group focuses on studying and analyzing cognitive, social, and adaptive processes, as well as communication and learning skills in neurodevelopmental disorders that are prevalent among school-aged children, such as Level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The group is involved in several research lines, including the development of an online psychosocial intervention program for parents of children with ASD and ADHD, and the study of parenting experiences with children affected by these disorders in collaboration with LUMSA University in Rome. In addition, the group is designing an internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) program enhanced with artificial intelligence to improve sleep problems in adolescents with Level 1 ASD, in collaboration with Stockholm University. It also investigates the processes involved in reading comprehension and written composition in children and adolescents with ASD and ADHD.
