This research group aims to address, through a variety of approaches, the study of comics or cartoons in all their diverse forms, styles, aesthetics, and themes from the richness of a multidisciplinary perspective. If the language of comics is advantageously multifaceted, so too is the impetus for its expansion in academic studies. As a means of expression, it is appropriate for all areas of knowledge, fosters all types of knowledge and experiences, and is open to all artistic possibilities. This group plans to observe the history, evolution, and applications of comics, as well as reflect on the richness of its presence in the Arts and Humanities, Education, Basic and Experimental Sciences, Health Sciences, Social and Legal Sciences, and Engineering and Architecture.
- Conocer los principios del lenguaje del comic en la conformacion de una determinada cosmovision cultural y como vehiculo estetico de ciertos temas
- Analizar la relacion del comic con otras artes
- Reflexionar en torno a las corrientes historicas y los discursos que abordan el medio desde una perspectiva diacronica
- Estudiar la metodologia y las idiosincrasias de la traduccion de la historieta y el impacto de las nuevas tecnologias
- Abordar la funcion pedagogica del comic. Estudiar las aplicaciones divulgativas y sociologicas del medio
- Sociological studies through comics.Analysis of specific social segments in comics, as well as social perception through comics.
- Aesthetic studies of comics.Analysis, from a stylistic and aesthetic point of view, of the work of a particular author, movement or school of comics, or a comparative study of comics with other arts (film, literature, visual arts, painting, graphic design, music).
- Comic history.Critical and analytical approach to the history of comics from their origins to the present day.
- Comic translation.Definition and analysis of the characteristics of comic translation, its models and strategies. Knowledge of the fundamental features of comics when evaluating, translating and revising texts, applying ICT where appropriate.
- Pedagogical application of comics.Study of methodologies for the pedagogical use of comics in the classroom and approach to educational methods that use comics as a central tool, especially in reading processes.
- Scientific dissemination through comics.Study of the use of comics as a means of disseminating scientific content in science, health sciences, social and legal sciences, engineering and architecture, through language adapted to a non-expert audience and their information needs.
