In view of the progressive ageing of the world’s population, this congress will bring together experts on the subject to learn about the latest research in the field of public policies.

The deadline for submitting abstracts for papers is 10 October. Authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection between 17 and 21 October. All the information about the programme and important dates is available on the conference website.

This international event is free and online, and will take place on 22, 23 and 24 November from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. (in Spain), from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (in Brazil) and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (in Colombia). Registration is open until 25 October, as a listener or as a participant, in both cases you will receive a certificate.

This first congress has been organised by a multidisciplinary international group of researchers from the Faculty of Economics of the Universitat de València, the Federal University of Viçosa, the Federal University of Amazonia, and other institutions, with the support of the Valencian Government.

How does this demographic transformation affect our society? And what kind of public policies are governments implementing in the face of this challenge? These are the questions that researchers will try to answer, who will analyse the impacts of this demographic transformation and the different responses that are being given by the public administration from the perspective of the UN's active and healthy ageing (2020).

With the organisation of this meeting for public policies on population ageing, together with universities from other latitudes with a long history in this field, “the aim is to create a space for dialogue between scholars on the subject to learn about the latest research, and to develop a network of experts related to the area from which other synergies of collaboration can emerge”, says the organising committee. “The aim is to develop a holistic perspective in the field of research, which is rooted in the socio-economic impact of this phenomenon”, it concludes.
