The UV research groups (GIUV) are regulated in the 1st chapter of the Regulation ACGUV48/2013, which explains the procedure for creating new research structures. They are basic research and organizational structures that result from the voluntary association of researchers that share objectives, facilities, resources and common lines of research. These researchers are also committed to the consolidation and stability of their activity, work in groups and the capability to achieve a sustainable funding.
The research groups included in the previously mentioned Regulation are registered in the Register of Research Structures of the Universitat de València (REIUV), managed by the Office of the Vice-principal for Research. The basic information of these organisms can be found in this website.

Description of research activity: The main objective of the EXINH research group is the design, application and execution of interventions based on physical exercise, as well as the study of the effects that this can have on people's health, whether at a preventive, therapeutic or simple physical conditioning level. The fields of action in which our research activity is currently being developed are varied, from the clinical field in collaboration with various public hospitals of the Valencian health system, the study of work-related problems in health personnel (orderlies, nursing staff, physiotherapists), non-health personnel (musicians, administrative staff, lorry drivers) and the effect of interventions with physical exercise on these problems, as well as in the field of sport. In view of the above, various lines of research have been underway for some time, and at present, numerous projects are being developed, with various scientific publications in prestigious journals, as well as participation in national and international congresses on subjects related to exercise and its effects on people's health.

Research lines: - Promoting active ageing through physical exercise programmes.Through the design of specific physical exercise programmes, the effect on the musculoskeletal system of elderly people is investigated, as well as the promotion of active ageing in this population.
- Prevention of work related injuries.Study of injuries in the work environment (health and non-health) and action for their prevention through physical exercise programmes.
- Study of the abdominolumbar musculature and various activation exercises.Study of the abdominolumbar musculature (also called core musculature) and its muscular activation, by means of specific exercises for this purpose.
