The UV research groups (GIUV) are regulated in the 1st chapter of the Regulation ACGUV48/2013, which explains the procedure for creating new research structures. They are basic research and organizational structures that result from the voluntary association of researchers that share objectives, facilities, resources and common lines of research. These researchers are also committed to the consolidation and stability of their activity, work in groups and the capability to achieve a sustainable funding.

The research groups included in the previously mentioned Regulation are registered in the Register of Research Structures of the Universitat de València (REIUV), managed by the Office of the Vice-principal for Research. The basic information of these organisms can be found in this website.

Description of research activity:

The Advanced Research Group in the Psychology of Physical Activity, Exercise and Sport (GIAPAFED), aims to address advanced research and intervention in the various contexts of physical activity, exercise and sports practice. Within these contexts, it focuses on various lines of research such as: - training sports practice and physical education contexts - the processes of social influence from the main agents of sports socialisation (i.e., parents, coaches, physical education teachers, and peers) - the motivational processes related to the practice of physical-sports activity - the transmission of values in sport - the encouragement and promotion of the positive development of young people in training - the study and intervention of psychosocial variables (e.g. social identity, life skills, adherence to the practice of physical activity) - the promotion of health through the practice of physical-sports activity (e.g., weight control strategies through the practice of physical activity and healthy eating) in the general population.
