The UV research groups (GIUV) are regulated in the 1st chapter of the Regulation ACGUV48/2013, which explains the procedure for creating new research structures. They are basic research and organizational structures that result from the voluntary association of researchers that share objectives, facilities, resources and common lines of research. These researchers are also committed to the consolidation and stability of their activity, work in groups and the capability to achieve a sustainable funding.
The research groups included in the previously mentioned Regulation are registered in the Register of Research Structures of the Universitat de València (REIUV), managed by the Office of the Vice-principal for Research. The basic information of these organisms can be found in this website.
Participants
Data related to research groups featured in various information dissemination channels shall not, under any circumstances, imply a statement or commitment regarding the employment or academic affiliation of individuals associated with the Universitat de València. Their inclusion is solely the responsibility of the group directors. Updates will be made upon request from interested parties.

Reference of the Group:
Description of research activity: The research group has extensive experience in the application of atomic and molecular spectroscopy, chromatography and electrochemistry analytical techniques in various types of matrices, as well as in the development and use of different chemometric methods for the resolution of interferences in the analytical signals obtained. In the treatment of the sample, various materials have been developed for the optimisation of the extraction of compounds of interest and/or elimination of interferences, improving the analytical methods in terms of sensitivity and selectivity. The samples used have been solid, liquid and gaseous and applications have been developed in various fields such as the environment, food and industrial hygiene. The most recent field of research has been the use of portable instrumentation for on-site analysis, for example, the use of smartphones as measuring equipment.
Web:
Research lines: - Occupational environmental atmospheres: measurement and risk assessment..Sampling and analysis of work atmospheres is required by our legislation for the assessment of chemical risks at work. The aim is to improve them, as well as the statistical methodologies that enable situations to be classified as risky or acceptable.
- Sustainable sample treatments using mesoporous materials. The use of mesoporous materials that may contain cyclodextrins in their structure enables the preconcentration of analytes and the cleaning of the matrix in complex samples. The materials are reusable and the procedures are more sustainable than the use of commercial materials.
