The UV research groups (GIUV) are regulated in the 1st chapter of the Regulation ACGUV48/2013, which explains the procedure for creating new research structures. They are basic research and organizational structures that result from the voluntary association of researchers that share objectives, facilities, resources and common lines of research. These researchers are also committed to the consolidation and stability of their activity, work in groups and the capability to achieve a sustainable funding.
The research groups included in the previously mentioned Regulation are registered in the Register of Research Structures of the Universitat de València (REIUV), managed by the Office of the Vice-principal for Research. The basic information of these organisms can be found in this website.

Description of research activity: The FiCoM research group (Cognitive Physiotherapy and Movement) focuses on the study of pain and movement disorders, applying a Multimodal Physiotherapy approach within the framework of the biopsychosocial paradigm. This paradigm views both pain and movement dysfunction as complex phenomena, shaped by the interaction of biological, cognitive-evaluative, affective-motivational, and social factors, which must be addressed in an integrated and personalized manner.
Through its research activity, FiCoM aims to evaluate and understand the neurophysiological and psychosocial mechanisms involved in the development and maintenance of clinical conditions characterized by complex pain. Additionally, the group seeks to design and validate movement-based clinical interventions that contribute to the effective management of people living with pain.

Research lines: - Movement representation techniques in patients with pain and/or movement disorders..The objective is to evaluate the effects of different motor representation techniques, such as motor imagery or action observation training, in patients with pain and in patients with movement disorders. It also includes the development and validation of clinical instruments.
- Multimodal physiotherapy implemented in women with pelvic floor alterations..It focuses on the study and treatment of various pelvic floor pathologies, using movement as the fundamental axis of clinical intervention. It also includes a comprehensive approach to all relevant clinical areas that may influence women's health.
