Representative elections abide by the following rules:

  1. The representatives of the teaching and research staff are distributed proportionally to each faculty, technical school or university school, depending on the number of members of the teaching and research staff assigned to each centre. In each of these centres, this representation is distributed according to the number of members of the teaching and research staff, publicly-contracted and doctor and university-contracted or non-doctor, of each centre. The percentage of participation in the Senate of the adjunct teaching staff at health institutions is established in the eleventh additional provision of these Statutes.
  2. The representatives of the students are distributed proportionally to each faculty, technical school or university school depending on the number of students registered in each centre.
  3. The representatives of the administrative and service staff are distributed proportionally according to the census of each electoral college, so as to ensure the participation of all administrative and service staff.
  4. The representatives of the research fellows are chosen in a single electoral college.
  5. The Senate chooses the Electoral Commission, which according to the criteria outlined in the previous sections prepares the regulations of Senate elections and the census of each electoral college, determines the number of members to be elected and resolves the complaints and resources filed in the electoral process.
