Telescopio refractor Grubb del año 1909
Transit of Mercury

The UV Astronomic Observatory organises a public observation on behalf of Mercury’s Transit.

Observation will be done using the Observatory’s historical telescope, a Grubb refractor telescope from 1909.

The Transit of Mercury occurs once every ten years. It consists on this planet passing in front of the solar disk. We are having one today and it will last for several hours (13:00-19:00) and it is perfectly visible form Valencia with the appropriate equipment and if the weather does not impede it. We expect to be using the Observatory’s Grubb telescope located at the Office of the Principal’s dome, which is conveniently equipped to carry out a safe observation of the solar disk. The visit includes the visioning of astronomic images and the reconstruction of Mr. Ignacio Tarazona Blanch’s office, founder of the Astronomic Observatory.

Duration 20 minutes (approximately). Schedule: non-stop from 13:00 to 19:00.

Date 9 may 2016 at 13:00 to 19:00. Monday.
