The academic ceremony in tribute to Professor Àngel Ortí Lahoz on the occasion of his retirement will take place next Thursday, 18 October.

The ceremony, which will be chaired by the Principal of the University of Valencia, Esteban Morcillo, is organised by the Faculty of Economics and the Department of Economic Analysis, and will take place at 12 noon in the Assembly Hall of the University-Business Foundation of the UV (ADEIT). Professor Enrique Bigné is in charge of the encomium.

Professor Àngel Ortí Lahoz has devoted his academic life to turn the Faculty of Economics into an European point of reference in the internationalisation of Economics and Business studies. He promoted initiatives such as the international double degrees GEE (European Degree in Economics) and GEDE (European Degree in Business Administration) or the International Master in Business Administration (IMBA).

Professor Àngel Ortí, who was elected dean of the Faculty of Economics five times over his long career in the the centre, also played an important role in initiatives that have marked the pursuit of teaching excellence in this faculty, such as his participation in the committees that drafted, jointly with the Faculty of Law, the double degree in Law and Business Management and Administration, or teaching in English, the task of the current high academic performance groups, ARA.
