AAN-DI

Digital Transformation for NeuroDiversity Inclusion in Africa and Asia.
Acronym

AAN-DI

Description

The AAN-DI project aims to improve the digital inclusion of neurodivergent individuals by helping them develop digital skills that increase their opportunities in both work and social life. The project seeks to train staff and students from four higher education institutions in Kenya and India so they can support neurodivergent people in developing digital competencies across three key areas: digital well-being and inclusion, transversal digital skills for neurodiversity, and sustainable digital transformation for neurodiversity.

The project includes several actions, such as:

  • Development of certified training modules: Three modules will be created for staff, covering digital well-being and inclusion, transversal digital skills for neurodiversity, and sustainable digital transformation for neurodiversity. These modules will be available for learning at participating institutions in Kenya and India.
  • Skills development for higher education students: Three online courses worth 2 ECTS credits each will be offered, focusing on the three aforementioned areas.
  • Blended mobility: Opportunities for both staff and student mobility will be facilitated across the participating institutions, combining virtual and physical learning experiences.
  • Support for neurodivergent individuals: To ensure the inclusion of neurodivergent people, an open-access resource called NeuroWiz Hub will be developed. This hub will support professional development, mental health and well-being, autonomy, and digital inclusion for neurodivergent individuals.

The key partners of the project are the University of Jyväskylä (JYU) in Finland; Great Lakes University of Kisumu (GLUK) and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) in Kenya; the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) and the University of Kashmir (KU) in India; as well as the University of Valencia in Spain. Additionally, 12 other organizations are collaborating on the implementation of the project.
