The Languages Policy Service administers Portuguese CAPLE tests (Centro de Avaliação e Certificação de Português Língua Estrangeira) at the levels A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. CAPLE is an official certificate attesting the level of competence and command of Portuguese granted by the University of Lisbon.

Who can register for the test
CAPLE tests are open both to the university community and to the public.

- DUPLE (C2): €160
University staff can ask for official language tests grants.
Recognition
CAPLE certificates are fully recognised by the University of Valencia, by the Portuguese government and by other international institutions and organisations.

2025 calendar, registration period and levels
There are different exams dates throughout the year with limited places available. The University of Valencia administers the tests offered in May and November of 2024:

One week before the date of the exams, the candidates will receive an e-mail with all the information about the time and location.
Location, date and time
We will post the location, date and time of the speaking and writing tests between one and three weeks before the official date. Candidates will also receive all the information via email.

Approximately three weeks after the publication of the results on the CAPLE web page, the Languages Policy Service will inform successful candidates about when to collect their certificates.
