Who are we?

The idea for this Blog came about as many good ideas do: in groups, discussing, with concerns and with the deep conviction that a better world is possible.

We are a group of PhD students and teachers in training at the Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València who want to return, through the dissemination of knowledge, contributing ideas and proposals, the trust that society places in the Public University.

This project was born thanks to the indispensable support that the Faculty of Law gives to this idea, which competed in the call for proposals of cultural and academic activities for junior researchers 2020.

What is the Polychrome Blog?

The Polychrome Blog aims to be a space for debate and exchange of ideas on diverse and current issues through the publication of opinion and dissemination articles.

We aim to convey our knowledge, and also our concerns, in a direct and clear language, so that we can build together the foundations for a better University and a better society. This project will also provide a space for criticism, where there is room for social denunciation of national and international situations that are considered to be of necessary diffusion.

In this sense, the Blog is inspired by the following principles, which we believe cannot be renounced, and which are the starting point for any transforming project: democracy and human rights, gender equality, the denunciation of social inequalities, the defence of the environment and the culture of peace.

Who is it aimed at?

It is aimed at a general public, at the society that contributes so much to the construction of the public and quality university. But we also want to appeal to the interest of young researchers and students in our Faculty to form and develop their critical spirit and dare to question, discuss and propose.

The Polychrome Blog is open for the participation of doctoral students, Researchers in Training (PIF) and Tenure-Track 1 Professors-PAD. However, exceptionally, the Teaching and Research Staff-PDI and even students in the final years of undergraduate and postgraduate courses may also contribute, with the review of Faculty members.

In this way, the Faculty of Law obtains a virtual space in which to disseminate the talent it is training and, at the same time, encourages the thoughts of young researchers to be heard even beyond academic borders, reaching the public through the mass media of the Internet.

What are its objectives?

The objectives to which this blog aspires are the following:

a)   To promote the training and dissemination of critical thinking among young researchers at the Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València.

b)   To contribute to the establishment of networks between the different areas of knowledge and to encourage interdisciplinary work.

c)    To arouse readers' interest in various subjects, particularly legal, political and criminological.

d)   To encourage the participation of the entire university community.
