April 17, 2026 from 12:00 to 14:00.

Espai Cultural of the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication.

Cláudia Lucas Chéu is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Portuguese literature. A writer, poet and playwright, as well as a columnist for Expresso and Público and a lecturer at the University of Évora, she has built a solid and widely recognised career in poetry, fiction, essay writing and drama. In this event, the author will read some of her poems, share her professional journey, and reflect on her work, the meaning of the 25th of April, and several key issues in contemporary Portuguese culture. The conversation will include questions addressed to the guest, and at the end there will also be an opportunity for discussion with the audience.
