Maria Rosa Álvarez

Dear members of the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication,

I am pleased to inform you that I have submitted my candidacy for Dean of our Faculty, together with a team united by a shared trajectory, strong commitment, and extensive experience in university management. Over the academic years 2023–2024, 2024–2025, and 2025–2026, we have served as Vice Deans, working closely with the departments, the teaching and research staff (PDI), the technical, management and administrative staff (PTGAS), and our students. This experience has given us a thorough understanding of the Faculty’s real needs, and most importantly, it has shown us the importance of addressing them through dialogue, consensus, and collaboration.

I present this candidacy with a clear purpose: to continue advancing through a model of leadership that is approachable, transparent, and inclusive, placing people and the academic excellence that defines our Faculty at the centre of every decision.

This programme is the result of the experience gained during over two years of work in the Vice Dean’s Office, as well as ongoing dialogue with the different groups that make up our Faculty community. It sets out a project organised into five major lines of action, designed to strengthen the academic, research, and professional life of our institution.

We invite you to take part in this shared project so that, together, we may continue building an open, dynamic Faculty that is deeply engaged with society.

With enthusiasm, responsibility, and a spirit of service,

Programme
