General FAQs (Updated for 2017/2018 academic year)

1. How much is the Erasmus Placement grant?
The amount of the grant depends on the country where the traineeship is carried out, according to the following groups:
Group 1. Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Norway, the United Kingdom and Sweden: €400/month.
Group 2. Germany, Belgium, Cyprus, Croatia, Slovenia, Greece, Iceland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Czech Republic and Turkey: €350/month.
Group 3. Bulgaria, Slovakia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Rumania and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia: €300/month.

Students from disadvantaged settings (beneficiaries of a general scholarship from the Ministry of Education in the academic year 2016-2017, or who are refugee or eligible for subsidiary protection or who have applied for international protection in Spain) will receive an additional grant of 75 euros/month.

2. What is the minimum and maximum duration to receive financial support for an Erasmus Placement?
Minimum duration: 2 months
Maximum duration with grant: 4 months
The start and end dates must fall within the same academic year: from 1 September 2017 to 30 September 2018.

3. Do I need to look for the host organisation/company or does the University do this for me?
Searching for the host organisation/company is part of the traineeship and it is the responsibility of the student. However, the University of Valencia will help you look for international traineeships in the following ways:
•    The Placement Committee at the faculty has compiled a list of possible traineeships which also includes international organisations. This list is composed of organisations and companies provided by ADEIT as well as contacts that the placement coordinator or other faculty members have.
•    On the International Relations website (www.uv.es/relint), click on Erasmus Placements>Outgoing>Find an institution, and you will find useful links to help you in your search.

4. Can I change the traineeship period?
Yes, for a justified reason provided that the traineeship will be carried out in the same host organisation/company and with the approval of the placement coordinator.

5. If I do not have nationality of the country where I am studying, can I participate in the programme?
Yes, if you have nationality or a valid residence permit in any of the countries participating in the Erasmus+ programme or in a third country; in this case you must prove that you are in possession of a valid permit to reside in Spain for the period of mobility.

6. If I have already received an Erasmus Study grant, can I apply for the Erasmus Placement grant?
In accordance with the new Erasmus+ programme, a student can receive financial support for Erasmus mobility (Erasmus Study and Erasmus Placement) for a maximum of 12 months in each cycle (Undergraduate or Master’s). This limit is 24 months in the degrees of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy.
Thus, if you have participated in the Erasmus Study programme for a total of 6 months in your undergraduate studies, you still have 6 months for Erasmus mobility, whether it is Erasmus Study again or Erasmus Placement.

7. What is the Training Agreement?
It is equivalent to the “Learning Agreement” for studies. It is a personalised document including: the work or work programme to be carried out, the outcome of knowledge, skills and competencies to acquire, mentoring activities, recognition after completion, etc.
In addition, in the case of category A, remember that you are required to sign the curricular training agreement provided by ADEIT, following the regular procedure of your degree programme.

8. What are the language requirements?
The host institution will be in charge of assessing the language skills of the trainee candidate. It is not necessary to prove your language knowledge at the time of application.
