The Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy hosts an international workshop on digital skills and educational inclusion in the framework of the AANDI project

The Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy of the University of Valencia has held during the days 18-26 June 2026 the international workshop Digital Literacy and Learning: Research Methods, Evidence, and Practice, an activity organized by ERI Lectura in the framework of the European project AANDI (Digital Transformation for NeuroDiversity Inclusion in Africa and Asia), financed by Erasmus+. The meeting brought together professors, research staff and doctoral students from universities in Europe, Africa and Asia with the objective of strengthening research and international collaboration around digital literacy, neurodiversity and inclusive education.

Throughout the week, the participants attended a wide program of specialized workshops given by international experts on topics such as digital reading, eye-tracking, electroencephalography (EEG), virtual reality applied to mental health, cognitive training games, adaptation of texts for easy reading, single case research methodologies and scientific publication. The sessions will combine theoretical content with practical activities, laboratory demonstrations, mentoring spaces and debates aimed at the development of joint research projects.

The workshop concluded with an institutional round table on the present and future of the AANDI project and its international collaboration network. The act included the participation of representatives of the government teams of the universities involved, among them Prof. Hazel Miseda Mumbo, Vice Chancellor of Great Lakes University of Kisumu; Prof. Javier Roca, Vice Chancellor of Studies and Quality at the University of Valencia; and Prof. Susannah Otieno-Leppänen, coordinator of the AANDI project for the University of Jyväskylä, together with Prof. Paavo Leppänen. The session highlighted the institutional commitment of the participating universities to the strengthening of international cooperation, excellence research and the development of innovative solutions for a more inclusive and accessible higher education.
