The European Research Council (ERC) has opened the call for proposals for Consolidator Grants under Horizon Europe, the research and innovation framework programme (2021–2027). Full information and submission of proposals are available via the following link: ERC-2027-COG.

ERC Consolidator Grants are aimed at researchers who wish to consolidate their career by building their own research team. Scientists from any field of knowledge with 5 to 15 years of experience (on 01/01/2027) since the successful defence of their PhD thesis and a promising scientific track record are eligible to apply.

Funding is provided up to a maximum of €2 million for a 5-year period, with the possibility of an additional €1 million under specific circumstances (please consult the ERC Work Programme 2027). It covers up to 100% of eligible direct costs, plus a 25% contribution towards indirect costs. The evaluation criteria are based on the scientific excellence of the researcher and their project.
