| ABSTRACT |
| This course explores the dynamics of Ukrainian refugee migration to Poland and the European Union following the Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Ukrainian refugees are the largest group of displaced group in Europe, whereas Poland is their main refuge. The course will examine the scale, patterns, and drivers of displacement, as well as the social, economic, and political impacts on particular host countries. Students will analyze policy responses at national and EU levels, integration challenges, and the role of civil society in supporting the newcomers. The course will also highlight refugee experiences, focusing on access to labor markets, education, and other social services. By combining theoretical perspectives with case studies, course participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of contemporary forced migration in Europe. |
