The main objective of the CIRIEC/CIDEC International Network of knowledge of the social economy is to promote information, scientific research and the dissemination of works in Public, Social and Cooperative Economy, at national and international level.
This International Network of knowledge constitutes a key piece of the Valencian Ecosystem of the social economy linked to the national and international sphere of knowledge of the social economy. It articulates the association CIRIEC-Spain and its Spanish Observatory of Social Economy, the Spanish Inter-University Network of Institutes and Research Centres in Social Economy (ENUIES Network) which integrates almost fifty Institutes, Centres and University Chairs specialised in social economy, Among them is the University Research Institute in Social Economy, Cooperativism and Entrepreneurship, IUDESCOOP of the University of Valencia, on which CIDEC depends and with which CIRIEC-Spain has a collaboration agreement, as well as the international network of CIRIEC, which has its headquarters in Liège (Belgium) and fifteen national sections in America, Europe, Asia and Africa. It is supported by the Generalitat Valenciana.
The Network is a consultative and/or specialised opinion-forming body on the aspects of research and information that concern it, socially committed and active in the processes of cooperation, transfer to society, to related companies and to the administration in the advances in information and knowledge that allow for greater visibility, competitiveness and efficiency in the market and in society. Its action also seeks the mutual enrichment of professionals and scientists.
