The Universitat de València, third of Spain and 192 of the world in the ranking UniRank, about appearance and quality on the web

The Universitat de València is the third of Spain, 40th of Europe and the number 192 of the world in UniRank, the ranking that measure the quality of more than 13.000 institutions of higher education of 200 countries according to the analysis of the metric website (appearance, popularity, reliable and quality links).

UniRank™ is an international directory of higher education and a search engine that published the first UniRank in the year 2018. It is about a listing based on the appearance in the website and the popularity of the organisation, in terms of estimated traffic, reliability, and quality links.

In the global Top 200, this ranking  is head by Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the universities of Stanford and Harvard, all of United States, and the only Spanish listed are the Universitat de Barcelona (place 143), the Complutense University of Madrid (148), the Universitat de València (192) and the Politécnica de Cataluña (number 198). At European level, according to this ranking, the Universitat de València is among the best 40 organisations of higher education.

In Spain, UniRank established as the three best institutions the universities of Barcelona, Complutense of Madrid and of València. The second Valencian institution is the Universitat Politècnica de València, in 9th Spanish place of 75 public and private universities.

UniRank has also analysed the appearance and the impact of universities in social networks (UniRank Facebook Ranking and UniRank Twitter Ranking). The methodology is based on a quantitative criterion about the number of people who are following or liking the institutional account of each university in Facebook of Twitter.

In this section, in Facebook (www.facebook.com/universitatdevalencia), the Universitat de València is the 9th ranked of 72 institutions of Spanish higher education. While in Twitter (www.twitter.com/uv_eg), Valencia ranked the 7th place of 67 centres of state level.

To take part of the database of UniRank, any university must be authorised by the appropriate official entity related to higher education in each country. They should offer at least four years of university studies of degree and master’s degree, and they should teach courses in a traditional format of on-site learning and not online.
