Institute SCIENCE OF THE MATERIALS
Introduction to materials and nanomaterials course.
From July 10th to 14th
The Institute of Materials Science of the University of Valencia (ICMUV) is launching a new edition of its summer course: Introduction to materials and nanomaterials course.
This five-day course, from July 10th to 14th, 2023, is designed for 3rd and 4th year chemical and physical science students who are looking to explore the world of material science and discover its application in our daily lives.
The course aims to provide students with an overview of material science and nanomaterials by showcasing the research activity carried out by different research groups at ICMUV (where engineering, physics, or chemical students are conducting their final degree projects, master's degree theses, or doctoral dissertations).
Through a combination of experiments, lectures, and practical activities, students will discover how materials form the basis of many everyday technologies and how modifying their structure and properties allows them to be adapted for specific applications. The course will also provide an overview of the latest advances in the field of material science and nanomaterials and will highlight the crucial role they play in addressing current global challenges, such as climate change and sustainability, as well as the role of new quantum technologies in their development.
This course is free for the university community. Students who wish to attend must submit a letter of motivation and their academic record.
All information related to the course can be found in the brochure and poster attached.
