External internships:

External Internships is an elective subject of 6 credits, scheduled to be taken in the 8th semester (4th year) of the Degree in Chemistry. Its objective is to enable the student to apply the knowledge acquired throughout the degree by carrying out technical work or basic or applied research related to one of the many fields that are specific to the chemist. On the other hand, these practices contribute to the knowledge of a real work environment, facilitating their future integration.

For this reason, it has to be carried out in the final phase of the curriculum and it has to be oriented towards the evaluation of the competences associated with the degree (included in the “Verifica” document).

The External Internships subject can be taken in the ranking modality, in which the students choose the offers proposed by the Faculty in order of academic record, or in the "self-practicum" modality, in which the students propose a specific internship. in a collaborating entity by signing a "student selection statement".

Extracurricular internships

There is also the possibility of voluntarily carrying out internships not linked to a specific subject. These internships do not appear in the academic record although, if the regulatory requirements are met, they may appear in the European Diploma Supplement.

The University-Business Foundation (ADEIT) regularly publishes the offers of extracurricular internships proposed by collaborating entities to which you can opt, or you can also do it in the "self-practicum" mode. In both cases, the company must send ADEIT a student selection notice which, once approved by the External Internship Commission, will lead to the internship contract.
