Description of research activity:
The Literary Geographies group (GEOLIT) stands out for its interdisciplinarity. The vast majority of its members belong to the area of language and literature teaching, mainly linked to the Department of Language and Literature Teaching at the UV. Among the group's participating collaborators are both members of the University of Valencia, from the Department of Experimental and Social Sciences Teaching and Classical Philology, and representatives of the different universities of the Vives Network (UB, UA, UIB, URV, Florida Universitària) linked to the UV through different innovation projects ¿Geografías Literarias 3.0¿. The group contributes to the knowledge of the social and natural environment, the shaping of attitudes and the generation of emotions, as well as a territory-oriented literary education. It aims to further the knowledge and practice of literary routes (real and virtual) within educational contexts. The proposals connect literature in the territory, paying special attention to the gender perspective, and allow reflection on the teaching practices of literary routes. It aims to further the knowledge and practice of literary routes (real and virtual) within educational contexts. The proposals connect literature in the territory, paying special attention to the gender perspective, and allow reflection on the teaching practices of literary routes. The work of the various members of the group contributes to the teaching potential offered by literary itineraries and routes in relation to the teaching of language, literature, history and heritage at any educational level, as shown by the banks of materials and resources that have been shared on the project website. The proposals connect literature with the territory, making reference to elements of popular literature, works from different eras and reflecting on the teaching practices of literary routes. The first line of research, which is general and open to the entire research group, focuses on the study of spaces and places linked to literary texts, specifically the relationship between literature and the territory. With this aim, both texts and literary spaces are researched and teaching devices are designed, analysed and evaluated for different educational levels, reinforcing positive attitudes that promote language, literature, history, landscape and heritage. We carry out research on the possibilities offered by historical-literary itineraries and routes, itineraries through memory spaces and from ethnopoetic texts, typical of oral literature. Educational research includes aspects such as the evaluation of transdisciplinary routes, proposals for analysis protocols, the treatment of interculturality in contact with literary geography, the relationships between literature, education and tourism, the relationships between literary creation and territory, the analysis of experiences with women writers or experiences with literary routes featuring women. We give attention to literary maps and the intersections between geography, cartography and literature. The use of maps with the Google Maps application (or others) allows us to incorporate georeferenced multimodal literary hypertexts. Within the group, we also use the literary text portal ENDRETS (http://www.endrets.cat/). Finally, the SDGs are incorporated into the group's research, with a clear impact on issues of social relevance, especially those that promote gender equality and the recovery of spaces of historical and literary memory. Regarding the gender perspective, we specifically focus our research on the role of women writers and women in the contemporaneity and history of the Valencian school.
