Description of research activity:
Our group's research activity focuses on the study of variables related to psychosocial well-being in childhood and adolescence. Based on the ecological perspective of human development, in our studies we examine the personal variables (self-esteem, empathy, social-emotional competences, life satisfaction, transgressive attitudes and feelings of loneliness), family variables (socialisation styles, family communication and family functioning), social variables (social integration, social reputation, peer relationships and partner relationships) and school variables (school climate, school integration and teacher-student relationships) that favor or hinder the well-being of children and adolescents. Within the study of the variables that decrease psychosocial well-being, we pay special attention to problems of social integration with peers and school violence. In this regard, we have extensive previous research (and numerous publications) focused on bullying and cyberbullying, and we have designed and implemented programmes aimed at the prevention of peer violence (Convivir programme), the prevention of cyberbullying (prev@ cyb programme) and the joint prevention of peer violence...Our group's research activity focuses on the study of variables related to psychosocial well-being in childhood and adolescence. More recently, our research activity has broadened to include the study of the impact that digital technologies have on social relationships and psychosocial adjustment in children and adolescents, as well as how their victimisation and aggression through these technologies influences their way of perceiving, feeling and relating to the world.
