UG Erasmus Studies for A/Y 2026-2027

23rd International Week

From November the 3rd to the 7th, 2025, the 23rd International Week of the university Universitat de València will be held. During this week, the International Relations and Cooperation Service, in collaboration with all the Faculties and Schools of the Universitat, will inform all students about the exchange programs for international stays in the year 2026-2027.

This initiative aims to promote that our students perform a stay in Europe (Erasmus Estudis Program), in other continents (International Program) or in Spain (SICUE Program). Information will also be provided about the Erasmus Placement Programme.

23rd International Week: informative sessions

Grants

Students receive a grant that can change its amount every year. Information on grants can be checked in our website. Among other goals, the new programme aims to improve the quality and to enhance the linguistic skills of students. To this end, a series of measures have been planned, such as online language courses for students or the option to take (non-binding) assessments tests before and after the Erasmus stays.

Requirements for participating in Erasmus Programmes

Applicants must be nationals of one of the countries that participate in the Erasmus Programme (the European Union Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey, North Macedonia and Serbia). Nationals of third countries also can participate if they have a valid residence permit for living in Spain during the mobility period.
Applicants must be enrolled on official undergraduate degrees studies of the UV, both when they submit the application form and during the stay in the host university.
Applicants must have completed 42 credits in the corresponding curriculum, at the end of the academic year 2024/2025.
Students who are beneficiaries of another mobility programme (SICUE or International Programme) with the University of Valencia during the same academic year cannot apply, excluding the Erasmus Placement Programme.
Students must accredit their language level and be accepted by the host institution. Erasmus Studies language requirement.
Students may go the Erasmus programme more than once as long as they do not exceed 360 days in total. In the degrees of Pharmacy, Medicine and Dentistry, the maximum is 24 months per cycle but each mobility cannot exceed the 360 day limitation.
Students may need to meet specific requirements set by Faculties for their degrees. Sometimes partner universities have also specific requirements that should be fulfilled.

Selection criteria

In the Erasmus Studies programme, the Mobility Committee for each School or Faculty ranks candidates according to some previously approved criteria, which can be checked at Announcements tab. Among other criteria relevant to each school or faculty, these will include the students' average score after the academic year 2023-2024 and their participation in the Mentoring Programme for incoming international students.

Possible destinations and duration of the stay

Mobility periods will be granted in accordance with the duration of stay established in the bilateral agreement between the Universitat de València and the host university. These can be checked in the list of destinations for each degree in the Student Services Website. Students can do 1st semester, 2nd semester or full-year stays.

These are the lecturers who advise incoming and outgoing mobility students on the drafting of the study contract, the equivalence of grades and academic assistance.

Scholarships a/y 2026-2027

The Erasmus Studies program has monthly financial aid to cover accommodation and maintenance. It also has travel aid for participants. In no case are they planned to cover total expenses. In addition, students are exempt from paying any amount in academic fees at the host university. Regarding administrative fees, exams or access to laboratories and libraries, they will receive the same treatment as the local student body.

Scholarships European Union - Universitat de València

The grant is composed by a monthly stipend plus travel expenses. Students with fewer opportunities receive a supplement of an additional 250 euros per month. To this end, students with fewer opportunities are those who have a general scholarship from the Ministry, disabled students, those who belong to a large or single-parent family, those who are victims of terrorism or gender violence. The International Relations Service verifies these circumstances ex officio, as they are tuition exemptions.

This scholarship does not have to be applied for. All students of the Universitat de València with an Erasmus Studies mobility grant will receive (without another request) the economic grant of the amount that corresponds to them. The Universitat de València does not award Erasmus Studies mobility scholarships without financial endowment. Nor does it grant economic scholarships if the students do not physically travel abroad.

This scholarship is compatible with the general scholarships for studies that are announced each year by the Ministry of Universities and the Generalitat Valenciana. Students must apply for these scholarships ("MEC" and "GVA" scholarships) also the year they are Erasmus Studies.

Erasmus Grant for sustainable travel

Students who opt for a "sustainable travel" to the destination university may apply for additional assistance. Sustainable travel is defined as sustainable transportation, in which low-emission means of transportation are used for most of the journey.

Santander Erasmus Scholarships

They are financial aid funded by the bank Banco de Santander for students who have an Erasmus mobility grant awarded for the 2026-2026 academic year.

Banco de Santander, through the University, is awarding 118 scholarships of 1,000 euros to students with the best weighted average grades in the 2024-2025 academic year. Preference is given to students with a full-year Erasmus scholarship over students with a semester scholarship or less.

Students must register to Banco de Santander through the platform santanderopenacademy.com. Deadline for registration: April 1st, 2026

There is no need to attach any documentation.

The weighted overall score is calculated as the difference between the overall score of the student's academic record and the average score of their degree at the end of the 2024-2025 academic year. The overall score of the academic record of the student is published in the Erasmus call for studies for mobility in the 2026-2027 academic year.

Students who have been awarded a scholarship will receive an email from Santander Open Academy starting June 16 to accept the scholarship within a few days. Not accepting the scholarship will be interpreted as a withdrawl

Scholarships European Union - Universitat de València

The most important financial aid received by students is that which comes from the European Union. The University of Valencia supplements this scholarship with funds from its own budget. The basic monthly amount of this scholarship is established based on the country where the mobility is carried out. The scholarship ranged between 325 and 425 euros per month, plus travel expenses. Students with fewer opportunities receive a supplement of an additional 250 euros per month. To this end, students with fewer opportunities are those who have a general scholarship from the Ministry, disabled students, those who belong to a large or single-parent family, and those who are victims of terrorism or gender violence. The International Relations Service verifies these circumstances ex officio, as they are tuition exemptions.

This scholarship is compatible with the general scholarships for studies that are announced each year by the State Administration and the Generalitat Valenciana. Students must apply for these scholarships also the year they are Erasmus Studies.

Santander Erasmus Scholarships

They are financial aid funded by the bank Banco de Santander for students who have an Erasmus mobility grant awarded for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Three types of scholarships

A scholarship of 1.000 € for the student that has a general scholarship of the Ministry of Education for higher education in the year 2023-24 and has the best weighted overall score in their transcript of records at the end of year 2021-2022.
A scholarship of 1.000 € for the student who has the best weighted overall score in his/her transcript of records at the end of year 2022-2023 among those who prove a recognized disability equal or greater than 33%
Seventy-seven (77) scholarships of 500 € for students and students with the best weighted average student score at the end of year 2022-2023. Priority will be given to those who hold a grant for higher education awarded by the Ministry in the year 2023-2024

Students must register to Banco de Santander through the platform santanderopenacademy.com. Deadline for registration: 1st April, 2024.

There is no need to attach any documentation. Students who consider that they meet the disability requirement to opt for the scholarship of 1.000 €, must tick the relevant case in their application to Banc de Santander. Documentary evidence will be asked to the beneficiary.

Scholarships a/y 2023-2024

The Erasmus study program has monthly financial aid for students. These grants are assistance to cover accommodation, meals and travel of students participating in the program. The scholarship does not cover expenses in its entirety. In addition, students are exempt from any academic fees. Regarding administrative or examination fees students should be treated like local students. The receiving institution will guarantee access to laboratory and library facilities on the mobility period.

Students who have a recognized percentage of disability equal to or greater than 33% can apply for Inclusion Support Grants based on the actual cost credited with invoices.

Students who suffer from any physical, mental or health condition can also benefit from this aid.

Automatically, they will also receive a supplement of 250 euros / month as a disadvantaged student. This latter complement is incompatible with the complement for having been a general scholarship holder of the Ministry of Education or for the status of Refugee.

United Kingdom. Specific information

1. Before you go

Accept the Erasmus Studies scholarship (from 1 to 30 April 2026). You must log in to the University of Valencia's Online Portal under "Students - Mobility - Erasmus Studies Scholarship" and complete a very simple online form. You will only need to include the 24-digit IBAN of a bank account you are a holder of and the personal details of your emergency contact. Upon completion of the acceptance, you will receive a PDF with proof of acceptance and another PDF with the official award of your Erasmus Studies place. You will also receive, where applicable, a certificate for passing any of the B1 language exams taken in December at the Language Centre.

Submit the Erasmus Student Mobility Grant Agreement. The Grant Agreement will be available in late July or early September 2026. On that date, students will receive an informational message with their grant agreement to their official email address (@alumni.uv.es). Once received, the document must be signed and submitted via the University of Valencia's Electronic Portal - My Procedures. It is recommended to sign the document with a digital certificate. Once the document has been submitted, the International Relations Service will take care of obtaining the signature of the Vice-Rector, who is the other signatory party to the agreement.

Submit the initial Study Agreement: You will need to formalise your study agreement through these two IT platforms:

Through Portalumne (for enrolment purposes)
- Go to the "Mobility Programmes with Other Universities" tab – "Draw up and Modify Study Agreement". There you will need to prepare your study agreement and agree it with your academic mobility coordinator. You can find the list of coordinators at this link. The agreement includes:
  1. The courses you will take at the host university
  2. The courses that will be recognised towards your degree
  3. The correspondence between them

Once you have submitted your proposal, your coordinator must validate (close) it by 9 July. If it is not validated, you will not be able to enrol.

- You do not need to print, sign or submit the documentation generated in the portal (see point 2 below for signatures on the contract). Exception: If the host university is not connected to the Erasmuswithoutpaper network, then the steps in point 2 above do not apply and a copy of the initial study agreement generated in Portalumne must be submitted via ENTREU. The signatures of the student, the coordinator from the University of Valencia and the coordinator from the host university are required (scanned signatures are accepted in this case).

Through Erasmuswithoutpaper (EWP) (for signature purposes)
- You will also need to complete the Study Agreement (OLA) via the EWP-UV application. The signing process has the following steps:
  1. The student creates the contract and signs it (signed manually on the screen).
  2. The coordinator of the University of Valencia signs it.
  3. The coordinator of the host university signs it.

If the contract is rejected by the coordinator of the University of Valencia, it returns to step 1. The student will make changes and sign it again. The same applies if it is rejected by the host coordinator.

The student is the only person who can create the contract. Two or more study agreements should never be created. You must always work with a single agreement. Once the agreement has been signed by the student and both coordinators, the process is complete. There is no need to download it as a PDF or upload it to ENTREU, as everything is digitally recorded in the application.

Queries about the Learning Agreement on EWP can be directed through tiqueting (Consultes Outgoing – Erasmus estudis).

Self-enrolment. Before you leave, you must complete your self-enrolment at the University of Valencia. Once you have signed your learning agreement and your academic coordinator has finalised your agreement in the Portalumne system, you will need to access the self-enrolment portal in accordance with the enrolment slot provided by the University of Valencia. Self-enrolment is expected to be available from 20 July 2026.

Courses will be automatically added in accordance with the learning agreement processed on Portalumne.

If you are undertaking a one-semester exchange, you may also select the courses you wish to take at the University of Valencia.

Exchange students will be required to pay the standard tuition fees at the University of Valencia in accordance with the number of ECTS credits included in their learning agreement. They will be exempt from paying these fees at the host university. You may also apply for the MEC general grant to fund your studies, as it is compatible with the Erasmus grant.

Please consult the self-enrolment instructions for exchange students for the 2026–27 academic year.

To resolve any issues, you will need to contact your faculty’s front desk office.

Academic fees are only payable at the University of Valencia. Please remember that you must also enrol at your host university, which may ask you to pay administrative fees but not academic fees.

You can enrol in the Online Language Support (OLS) Test and Language Course:

Participation in the OLS is voluntary. It is recommended to take it before starting your stay in the host country, and it can be repeated at any time.

Visa. If you are travelling to European Union countries, you only need your ID card. If you are travelling to countries outside the European Union, contact the consulate of your destination country. For example, you will need a visa for the United Kingdom or Turkey.

Health and insurance. It is mandatory to have health insurance. Get the European Health Insurance Card. If you are going to a country where you are not covered by this card (such as Turkey), you will need to take out private health insurance. There are specialist companies such as https://www.oncampus.es, https://www.guardme.eu or https://universitasmundi.com/

The University of Valencia provides each student with a policy to cover certain eventualities not covered by the European Health Insurance Card: serious illness, public liability, accidents and repatriation. The insurance company will email each student an individual certificate at the end of July or the beginning of August.

2. On your arrival at the host university

Certificate of Enrolment. Go to the International Office of your host university and request the signing of the Certificate of Enrolment (we also accept templates from partner universities). This must be submitted to the International Relations Service, attached to your Erasmus Study Grant file in ENTREU. Keep the original as proof. The first payment of the scholarship will be processed in the order this document is received.

Amendment of the study agreement. You only need to complete this procedure if you change the courses specified in the initial agreement. These must be processed once you are at the host university and before 5 weeks have passed since the start of classes. You must complete the amendments through two platforms:

Through the Student Services Portal (for enrolment purposes)
- You must agree the modifications with your academic mobility coordinator so that they are reflected on your enrolment.
- Once the modifications have been requested and processed, the academic coordinator will close the contract and the modified courses will be displayed.
- The enrolment will be regularised with the modified contract upon the student's return to the UV.
- You do not need to print, sign or submit the documentation generated by the modification in the student portal (see point 2 below for signatures). Exception: If your host university is not connected to the Erasmuswithoutpaper network, you will not need to follow the steps in point 2 above, but you will need to submit a copy of the contract amendment via ENTREU. The signatures of the student, the coordinator from the University of Valencia and the coordinator from the host university are required (scanned signatures are accepted in this case).
Through Erasmuswithoutpaper (EWP) (for signature purposes)
- You will also have to modify the Study Agreement (OLA) through the EWP-UV application.
- The amendment will be valid when it is signed by the student and the coordinators of the home and host universities. The signing process is the same as for the initial contract.

Application for an extension of stay. The extension involves converting a first-semester stay into a full-year stay. The period you are extending (the second semester) will not be eligible for financial aid if the application is submitted after 31 July 2026. In addition to submitting the duly completed extension application form to Tiqueting, the study contract must be amended in the previously stipulated terms. In any case, the request must be made at least one month before the end of the initially planned stay.

Application for a shortened stay. Only applications for a shortened stay received before 31 December 2026 will be accepted. In addition to submitting the application form for a shortened stay via Tiqueting, you must amend your study contract. The reduction involves converting a full-year stay into a semester-long stay.

Semester change. If this is a change from the first to the second semester, the request must be submitted by 15 July 2026. If it is a change from the second to the first semester, it must be requested before the destination universities close their first nomination period. The Tiqueting semester change request must be submitted.

3. Upon your return to Valencia

Certificate of Stay. This is the final document you will receive from the host university. It contains the start and end dates of your stay and is required to make the final payment of your scholarship. It must be submitted to the International Relations Service, attached to your Erasmus Study Grant file. It is important to take into account the instructions regarding dates and the prohibitions on corrections at the bottom and on the reverse of the document.

Student Final Report (EU Questionnaire). This is an evaluation questionnaire for your Erasmus Studies placement. The report is completed online via the IT application provided by the EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency), the body responsible for the Erasmus programme. You will not receive the invitation until you have completed your placement and submitted the certificate of arrival. Once you have received the invitation, sent directly to your institutional email address by the Erasmus Programme's online monitoring system (Beneficiary Module), you will need to complete the report within the specified timeframe.

Transcript of Records (ToR): This must be sent to the academic coordinator for your degree programme. If the host university sends the transcript of records to you (instead of sending it directly to your faculty), you must forward it to your coordinator. Important: We will not be able to process the second instalment of the scholarship without the aforementioned documentation. Furthermore, you must pass at least 50% of the international credits for which you have enrolled at the University of Valencia. Otherwise, you will be required to repay the scholarship amount you have received.

4. Other documents and recommendations

Withdrawal form. If you need to withdraw from the scholarship, send this document via Tiqueting.

Current account change form. If you need to change your current account number, fill in this form and send it via Tiqueting along with a copy of your bank passbook or a similar document showing all 24 digits, from your university email address.

Authorisation. Leave a signed authorisation with someone you trust. They will be able to carry out procedures with the University when you are away.

Register with the nearest Spanish Embassy or Consulate. Visit the website of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Select 'consular registration' and 'registration for residents and non-residents'. Apply for "non-resident" registration. Towards the bottom of the page, you will find an explanation of the specific procedure to be followed at your chosen embassy or consulate.

If you are travelling to Turkey, you will need to apply for a visa at the Turkish embassy or consulate.

If you are a student at the University of Valencia with an approved Erasmus Studies placement and you are also a national of a country outside the European Union, you will need a visa. Check with the embassy of your home country and the embassy of the country you are travelling to. In any case, you should be aware that Directive (EU) 2016/801 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 May 2016 obliges the host country to facilitate the procedures for you.

5. United Kingdom. Specific information

If you are travelling to the United Kingdom, you will need to apply for a visa. Here you will find information about which visa you need. You must pay close attention to the information sent to you by your host university. Visas for the United Kingdom are processed through the Visa Application Centre in Madrid or Barcelona.

Full-time courses: you need a Student Visa and will have to pay a fee.
Semester-long stays: it is not compulsory to obtain a visa, but you must be able to prove that you meet the requirements for an Standard Visitor Visa. In addition, you will also need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA).
