
María Isabel Vizcaíno, graduated in Business Management and Administration by the Faculty of Economics of the Universitat de València, has received the secondary award in the category of Commercial Trade Marketing, during the Academic and Journalism awards of Spanish General Consume Firms’ Association (AECOC, Asociación Española de Empresas del Gran Consumo), that took place recently in Madrid.
Vizcaino’s work is entitled El marketing sensorial visual y el reconocimiento facial de las emociones (Sensory visual marketing and emotions’ facial recognition) and it has been supervised by Asunción Hernández, lecturer of the Department of Marketing and Market Research of the Universitat de València.
In this category, other students from universities of Murcia, Oviedo, Politécnica de Madrid and ESADE have been also awarded for their undergraduate degree final projects and master's degree thesis.
150 firms’ directors, universities and the media attended this ceremony where María Isabel Vizcaíno also received the Special Nestlé Award, which aim is to revitalize the employability of Spanish youth. María Isabel will join this multinational firm to realize a work placement during six months.
Moreover, in the same ceremony, the journalist Iñaki Gabilondo received the Journalism Award - in the professional career category - presented by Francisco Javier Campo, AECOC’s president, and Jose Mª Bonmatí, general director of this association, who also presented the award for the best journalistic work received by Josep Mª Berengueras (El Periódico de Catalunya) for his work El comercio da el gran salto tecnológico (Commerce takes the technological leap).
The Journalism Award as well as the Academics Awards of AECOC are a proof of the engaged of this Association of working together with two of the most important social groups that have an important value in our present and future development: the media and the university community. In this respect AECOC and the Universitat de València signed in January 2013 a public-private partnership agreement that has allowed to realise several seminars, conferences, firms visits and students and lecturers access to AECOC’s Aula Virtual.
AECOC (Spanish General Consume Firm’s Association) was created with the aim to introduce in Spain the bar code in all consume products, and nowadays it gathers around 26,000 firms. It has become a multidisciplinary association that encompasses firms from different sectors such as food industry, textile industry, foundry and do-it-yourself firms, pharmaceutical products, sports or public health sector.
