The UV research groups (GIUV) are regulated in the 1st chapter of the Regulation ACGUV48/2013, which explains the procedure for creating new research structures. They are basic research and organizational structures that result from the voluntary association of researchers that share objectives, facilities, resources and common lines of research. These researchers are also committed to the consolidation and stability of their activity, work in groups and the capability to achieve a sustainable funding.

The research groups included in the previously mentioned Regulation are registered in the Register of Research Structures of the Universitat de València (REIUV), managed by the Office of the Vice-principal for Research. The basic information of these organisms can be found in this website.

Sport Psychology Research Group - UIPD

Reference of the Group:

GIUV2013-120

Description of research activity:

The Sport Psychology Research Unit (UIPD) is an interdisciplinary group made up of specialists in Social Psychology, Clinical and Health Psychology, Psychological Assessment and Sport Sciences. In this way, the research carried out by this Unit is carried out from a multidisciplinary perspective. The UIPD studies the psychosocial correlates of the optimal development of people, especially children and adolescents, in two main contexts, sport and education. The interrelationships between different psychosocial variables (i.e., motivation, self, values, self-efficacy, attribution) and some indicators of optimal development (i.e., lifestyles related to health, well-being, and performance) are analysed. The main objective of this research group is to study the motivation of individuals in achievement contexts. More specifically, to explore the processes that favour both involvement in and adherence to activities and the development of well-being. Ultimately, we work to bring theoretical and research knowledge closer to the applied world by developing tools that enable the creation of positive climates that favour optimal development and well-being.
