Entrepreneurship and innovation are essential components in shaping the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Their purpose is to ensure comprehensive training for future graduates and to promote the ongoing renewal of knowledge, skills, and competencies across the university community.
The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Unit at the Facultat d’Economia of the Universitat de València leads the school’s initiatives to foster university-based entrepreneurship through the Economia Emprén pre-incubator. It also develops training programs for students; technical, management, administrative, and service staff; teaching and research staff; and researchers in training. These programs introduce participants to the most significant trends in their respective professional domains, with particular emphasis on digitalization, ethics, and sustainability, among other key areas.
In particular, the unit coordinates the activities that make up the Center Innovation Plan, funded by the Vice-Rectorate for Life-long Learning, Teaching Transformation, and Employment at the Universitat de València, with co-sponsorship from the Facultat d’Economia. It also promotes its own initiatives related to student-led business creation and innovative training for the university community, in collaboration with prominent organizations within the entrepreneurial and business ecosystem.
The programs developed include:
- Digital Teaching Competencies Program, aimed at faculty and research staff.
- Business Ethics and Human Flourishing Program, designed for the entire university community.
- DocencIA Program, focused on competencies and skills related to digital artificial intelligence tools, intended for teaching and research staff.
- Entrepreneurship Breakfasts, organized in collaboration with the pre-incubator network of the Universitat de València.
