Aula Ciutat is a joint platform of IIDL. Meeting point of researches that from different disciplinary views has the city as a subject of study
Aula Ciutat focuses its attention on the built environment and its value.
The reasons: social expiration and environmental unsustainability of an expansive real-state model, the demographic standstill of Western Europe and the lack of financial resources.
Lack and creativity are often cause and consequence, Aula Ciutat wants to explore this relationship and investigate the conditions of lack that affect the production of architecture, urban planning and the policies of economic revitalization in the built environment. At the same time, as a part of the adaptive urbanism aims to overcome the boundaries between old disciplines and to share knowledge among the different professions involved in the study of the city.
