
EFRAG has confirmed the renewal of the professor Giner, Emeritus Full University Professor from the Department of Accountancy of the Faculty of Economics of the Universitat de València, as a member of the Sustainability Reporting Board (SRB) for a new period of 3 years. In March 2022, was selected as one of the 22 members of the Counsel whose main mission is to elaborate the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (NEIS), which have been adopted by the European Commission as Delegated Acts.
The decision of the European Commission of establishing norms for the dissemination of the information about sustainability in the European Green Deal and that alienates with the Goals of Sustainable Development. To that effect it has been elaborated the first pack of NEIS, including environmental, social and corporative government aspects, but there are other norms to be elaborated for smaller companies and non-European groups. Also, the development of apps guidance, among other aspects are being worked on. The members of the SRB represent the many groups of European interest, including organisations in a broad sense, norms issuers, as well as civil society, in where academics are located, most specifically the European Accounting Association (EAA), which the professor Giner represents.
