
Last Thursday, June 18, the closing day of the Mentors Club was carried out through a videoconference, with the participation of 80 attendees, including mentors, masters’ directors, students and members of the advisory council.
The event began with the welcoming words of José Manuel Pastor, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, followed by the intervention of Carmen Salas, President of the Mentors Club. Salas thanked the participation of students and mentors in this edition of the club, then she motivated attendees to maintain a positive attitude and develop adaptive capacities to face different scenarios that, like the current one, can change our daily lives.
Afterwards, Marisa Quintanilla, as the Academic Director, repeated the thanks and explained the great welcome that the Mentors Club has had since it began in 2016 with the participation of the Master in Business Administration (MBA), until this last edition, in which the Master of Corporate Finance joined the program. The Academic Director also highlighted that during the four years of its career, the club has had the participation of 101 mentors and 230 students from 7 masters of the Faculty of Economics (Master in Creation and Management of Innovative Companies, Master in Business Management - MBA, Master in Economics, Master in Quality Management, Master in Planning and Management of Business Processes, Master in International Business Management and Master in Corporate Finance, Master in International Business Administration iMBA, and Master in Corporate Finance). In addition, she presented the most significant events of the course, such as the conference “Neuromarketing Sweets”, the mentee and mentor follow-up meetings and the WintoWin Partners business game.
Later on, María Iborra, Secretary of the Mentors Club, continued with the presentation, socializing the most relevant results obtained from the satisfaction survey carried out on the students. First, 74% of the students considered that the decision to be part of the club was adequate, since most of them consider it allowed them to expand their social networking and to improve soft skills. Likewise, they valued positively the willingness of the mentors and the fluid communication with them. Finally, she expressed the commitment of the Mentors Club to follow the recommendations provided by the students in order to give continuity to the club's processes and continue to direct efforts to offer students an ideal complement to their training.
Daniel Giménez, student of the Master in Business Administration (MBA), shared his experience, thanked the mentors, and other members of the club for their willingness and expressed his satisfaction of being part of this initiative that he says has brought great value to his academic and professional progress. In addition, as a member of the winning team of the business game sponsored by Win to Win Partners, he emphasized that the business simulator brought to his team knowledge for manage a company, and also congratulated to all the students who participated in this activity.
Finally, José Manuel Pastor, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, closed the event by thanking the sponsors, the members of the Advisory Council, the mentors and Francisco Muñoz, the Vice Dean of Postgraduate Programs at the Faculty, for being part of this initiative in which they have participated generously and which provides such an excellent academic, professional and personal complement to the participating students.
